Skylights & Roof Glazing

Montrose Glass provides professional emergency glaziers for all height work, including skylight replacements, repairs or roof glazing! We are a nationwide company, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year! We promise a 30-90 minute response time, but if you prefer, you can book a glazier at a time and date to suit you.

A lot of glass is up in the air; Height work is a major part of a glazing company’s business, so it is essential to have experienced glaziers and the correct insurances. Also, on commercial jobs method statements and risk assessments may be necessary.

With roofs and skylights, it all depends on access and a lot of the time you have to rely on the professionalism of the glazier to work out the best option as many jobs will require a site survey.

Sometimes with smaller works at height, it is possible to remove a frame from the inside, or where safe, it can be accessed by leaning out of an adjacent window to complete the job. If this is not possible there might be no other option but to use access equipment. We can attend your property to do an emergency survey to assess the risk to address what equipment may be necessary to make safe or glaze.

A good old fashion ladder is still used a lot of the time in household jobs, but other access equipment is often needed from tower scaffolds to step scaffolding systems, from cherry pickers to specialist cranes. Please note, an emergency access survey is required to begin the glazing or height work process.

Don’t forget, all services are available 24 hours a day! We might be a family run company, but we are big enough to cope and small enough to care, wherever you are in the UK!

All glass in skylights and roofs of any kind must conform with BS6206 and safety glass must be used. Wired glass is used in households, business and quite often in roof jobs. Laminates are also popular as they hold together in one piece when they break and appear as normal window glass.

Double glazed units are frequently replaced in skylights and other places that require access equipment. Whatever the glazing spec it will not be something that our glaziers haven’t come across before.

We are confident we can provide the glazing or glass work services you require, so get in touch with your job, no matter how unique. Get in touch to speak directly to a friendly glazing expert for services or an instant.
